I released a new video on Saturday named 'Cat and Chick Have an Argument'. I was planning on releasing a good one this week but I have decided a week longer until my channel has a full partnership. Therefore the one I released this week is purposefully not very good, I have put a sound track to it as the actual sound was awful. It is currently on 2,371 views thanks to Buzzfeed and is on the Youtube Pets front page.
Total channel views: 1,419,418.

The new video called Chick Swallowed by Cats Belly is doing well, currently at 55,000 views and it got onto Jezebel and Buzzfeed front page.
I had a small problem with monetisation for this most recent video as it was under review for 2 days without
monetisation, they are usually monetised instantly. I spent quite a while trying to sort it but YouTube
personal customer service is not existent. The most predominant recommendation
I found was to go on Firefox, remove monetisation then re-instate it. I tried
this but it did not work after many attempts. To see if there was a problem
with my account, I uploaded a load of videos including the same one as I had
the problem with. They were all monetised instantly which was good and proved
there wasn’t a problem with the account.
Eventually I tried making the problematic video very similar
to the identical re-uploaded video that monetised instantly. I removed all the
tags and the video description. I then removed the monetisation and waited 5
minutes, and then I re-instated the monetisation and closed Firefox. I opened
it about 5 minutes later and it was monetised! Just replaced the description
and tags and done job, just cost me about 30,000 un-monetised views.

It's been a while since I last posted and a lot has happened since, already over half the way there!
The Quail video has climbed to just over 50,000 views now but that is nothing compared to my next video.
My next video I named 'Camouflaged Chick' and it was of a chick on our Cats belly and they were the same colour. First I promoted a picture of it on Reddit which quite quickly reached the front page and received 164,000 views. Next I tried Buzzfeed, it got to the front page and I was promoted to the top 50 contributors of the site. From then on it required no more work, it just kept on increasing in views. The highest rate was 220,000 views in one day. Now it is at almost 500,000 views but increasing at a much slower rate.
I have also had a few TV requests from Japan for this video and an American one for the Quail video.
Yesterday I released a new video which I did not think was very good but it has got 50,000 views in a day. I did help it by getting it onto Jebezel but I don't know where the other 30,000 views have come from.
So far my channel has 600,000 views so I have achieved 60% of my target in about 6 weeks (11.5% of time limit) which I am very pleased with. I will release a new video next Saturday that I have good expectations of, so we will have to see how it does...

Hi, my name Jack, I am in my final year at School studying Chemistry, Maths and Biology. I run my own Poultry Business and hope to go on to study Chemical engineering at university later this year. My hobbies include Golf and Squash and outdoor pursuits.
I have set myself an aim to get at least 1 million video views on Youtube by the 16th January 2013. I have various methods in mind for getting there and I have a number of Chicken and Cat related videos that I hope will be a hit.
I started this project a few weeks ago and I thought I would set up a blog to document my progress and to help anyone else who may like to try this.
So far I have posted 22 videos to Youtube via my Youtube account in a space of one week, they are videos I have amassed from my Chickens, Cats and some other things. The first thing for me to get right was a catchy title that people are likely to be intrigued by and want to see more. I also believe a large number of tags in the video give the most chance of attracting viewers, the 'suggested tags' can be quite useful.
Once the Videos are up, the next stage is promotion. I need to get the videos out there for people to see and spread the link. I first started with Reddit but I have found it extremely hard to get many views on there, if I were to break through to the Reddit front page, I would pretty much be guaranteed hundreds of thousands of views in a short space of time.
Next I tried a site called Spikednation, a reliable way of getting 50 - 150 views per video but the people who use it get rather angry if you post too many videos.
I then tried a Hungarian site which I found from it being one of the 'Significant discovery events' on a popular video, it took me a while to figure out as it was in Hungarian/badly translated, I don't think much happened with the videos I posted on there.
My videos gradually started to increase in view numbers, some more than others. A video I posted called 'Baby Quail Stands on Grumpy Cat's Head', began increasing in view numbers much faster than the others, with only a small amount of promotion.
I next tried a site called 'Buzzfeed', I posted about 10 videos, one of my videos was awarded a 'Meow' badge so it was promoted a special category for Cat videos. At the time when I posted it, about one video a day was being awarded this which meant the views started racking up (1,185 views from Buzzfeed so far).
The video 'Baby Quail Stands on Grumpy Cat's Head' has continued to increase at a very rapid rate. People have been sharing it quite a lot including Russian and Iranian sites. It has been getting about 1,000 views a day which I have very pleased with. Currently on almost 8,000 views in 6 days of posting!
I have had people contact me about Licensing of the video, so they deal with the financial site when it comes to adverts wanting to use the clip etc. They are a reputable company with clients including 'Charlie Bit my Finger', however for the moment I don't think I will sign the contract as I don't agree with some of the terms to the contract and also I would like to deal with any licensing deals myself.
I have also had a very popular Songwriter who wants to write a Soundtrack to my video, I have agreed and it should be released later this month. This should bring in quite a lot of views and would also be quite amusing to have a soundtrack written for the video.
I have now finished my exams for now so I plan to do a lot more posting and promoting of videos, currently on 13,148 video views. My next promotion method is via Twitter, I will let you know how it goes in a few weeks time.
